So we finally check into our hotel room around 7pm and we head up 5 floors. Thank god there is an elevator because being SUPER SILLY I brought enough clothes for a month =/ (I like options and choices)
We open the door and literally this is it. There is a bed a table and a tv on top of a little mini fridge. We were in cramped quarters and being claustrophobic did not help . ( at least I did not go for the CAPSULE hotel, you literally sleep in little pods)
The washroom off course had a bidet and the tub was quite deep though very short. Walking around in the washroom for Dustin meant hitting a toilet, a door or the tub.
After semi unpacking in the small quarters, we decided we needed a cold drink and a meal, upon heading downstairs into the lobby of our hotel in Ueno we found our very first BEER vending machine. Dustin went for the Sapporo. ~Thirst is Quenched~
We walked across the street and to the right into a little ally which had multiple stores on the left and right. We found a little gem which was still open in the late hours (9pm). you have to note that many things close down in Tokyo by 8 pm.
We went for a hot plate style meal
yeah to peanuts and crackers to start off your meal with your beer
had to go for the bibimbap
yum fresh scallops in butter sizzling away with fresh scallions
best meal ever and I loved how the flakes on top kept flapping away. This one didn't have the noodles underneath so we vowed that we would get it next time. It is kind of like a pancake but it is already pre-cooked by the chef, all you have to do it wait for it to get super crispy on your very own hot plate.
After the meal we saw another vending machine and I went for the SUPER SUPER large coke.
At that point food coma took over and we passed out -.-
